Back to the Grenadines!  Three years ago, we made our first trip to the Grenadines and were greeted by many days of strong winds.  It was a challenging experience to say the least, and for most sailors, also their first trip to these islands.  This was our second trip and we were greeted by some of the best weather and service we could hope for.  It was magic.

The story of De 2009 Caribbean Regatta unfolds in the pages linked above.  Each page tells about a different island and a different experience.  In all, 8 boats participated, quite good showing considering the economic crisis in New York City.  But down in the Grenadines, for one fabulous week, we went out of touch, incommunicado, left our phones off the hook, stopped answering emails, gone "fishing," or in a really valid sense, "gone cruising."  The sun kissed our cheeks, the warm waters caressed our skin, we swam with the turtles, snorkeled with the fish and sailed from island to island in a grand dream of happiness and tranquility.

Congratulations to all of the participating skippers and crew because we as a group achieved some of the greatest heights of De Caribbean Regatta.

The group picture above says it all, a crowd of smiling people hanging out with each other in joy and harmony on the tiny "Happy Island" made of conch shells and cement, and perched on a reef just outside the harbor.

And now we invite you to climb aboard the trip and browse through the pages above to see what it was like.  The pages are for everyone, including those who were not able to make the trip.  Even if you did not go, you can still look at the pictures and dream...
