Introduction by Dennis Conner

Greetings.  I'm Dennis Conner.  I'm inviting sailors from all over the world to come to New York City for a competition.

This event is designed to promote international goodwill through friendly competition.

The third "Dennis Conner International Yacht Club Challenge" will be held August 20 to 23, 2008.

It will be sailed from the North Cove, NYC's mega yacht marina (www.TheNorthCove.com).  In 2005, I became chairman of North Cove.  This is a unique and special marina, located next to Wall Street and the business capital of America.  We have rejuvenated North Cove and made it a world-class facility for yachts and sailors.

The Dennis Conner International Yacht Club Challenge will be an amateur event.  It will be supported by the NY Harbor Sailing Foundation which is helping to promote amateur sailing of national and international importance in NY Harbor (www.nyharborsailing.com).

The competition will take place on a fleet of identical J/24 sailboats provided by the Manhattan Sailing Club (www.myc.org).

This event is designed for club sailors who would like to visit New York City with their friends and families.  In addition to the competition, there will be a lively and enjoyable social schedule of dinners and parties.

So if you have ever dreamed of visiting New York City, this is your chance.  Bring your fellow club members.  Bring your friends.  Bring your families.

The Dennis Conner International Yacht Club Challenge will be a grand time and I know you will enjoy sailing from North Cove.

If your yacht club would like to receive one of the invitations, please let me know by completing this form.
