Each year, the Manhattan Yacht Club welcomes an incredible group of new members. To help you get connected, make new friends, and find sailing opportunities, our club hosts popular New Member Mixers! These events are from 6:30 to 9:30 pm. The New Member Mixers coincide with the Freedom Friday women sails, doubling the fun back at dock once the sunsets.

These mixers are designed especially for members who joined in the past two years, but all members are invited—especially those looking to build their crew or meet more enthusiastic new sailors. It’s a relaxed, welcoming way to get involved in the social and sailing life of the Club.
What to Expect
- Meet & Mingle: Start building your community of fellow sailors.
- Name Tags: Red for new members (2024–2025), blue for longtime members.
- Drinks: Enjoy complimentary Mount Gay Rum or BYOB your favorite beverage.
- Dinner: Bring something for the BBQ, grab a pizza, or order to have food delivered when you arrive.
- Dress Code: Informal – it’s all about fun, not formality.
We encourage you to come solo or bring your spouse/significant other—this event is all about connecting members. To keep the focus on Club camaraderie, guests are not encouraged for this event.
