J/24 Entry Form

By submitting this form, I agree to the following:

1) Participate in two required events. I understand that my team is required to attend 2 events per year, the Spring Launching and the Decommissioning.  I and one other member of my team will attend each event. If we cannot attend, we will notify office@myc.org at least 2 days in advance and make a $100 contribution per event to the "Pizza & Beer Fund" to thank those members who do participate.

2) Collisions & Financial Liability. I accept full responsibility for my boat while racing, and for whoever I permit to sail on my boat or steer my boat. If my team is involved in a collision which causes damage to any boat, then a club committee will convene to establish the facts. The cost for repairing any damage shall be split by all Team Captains involved on a percentage basis determined by the Club. Generally for flagrant port-starboard foul, 90% to infringing skipper and 10% to the non-infringing skipper. For damage caused by a right-of-way vessel not giving way, then the splitting of damage can be up to 50/50. The maximum liability for each Team Captain shall be $3,000 per incident.

3) Put camaraderie ahead of competition.  I will help create a friendly atmosphere and understand this is informal club racing.  I will ensure my boat exhibits a friendly attitude towards other teams.  I will not use the rules to take advantage of situations, or cause difficulty to other teams which might not know the rules as well.  If I am involved in an incident on the water, I will show leadership among my crew and not blame the other team. 

4) Put members first.  I understand racing is a Members-only program. I will race only with Members. If I wish to bring an occasional guest, I will get approval from the Club in advance and pay the guest fee.

5) Not alter my boat.  I recognize that boats are used by cruising sailors in addition to racers. Cruisers like sheets and halyards to be longer.  I will make sure no one from my team cuts any halyards or sheets.
