Manhattan Yacht Club is one of the largest community sailing organizations in the country. Manhattan Sailing School has grown into the largest sailing school in the country. Apply to be part of our team! We are looking for energetic sailors who want to help grow the sport.
Yacht Club Office Admin/Dock Masters – Office Admin/Dock Masters needed to help members access the sailboats, answer phones, tend the clubhouse and interact with the public.
Sailing School Administrators – Help run Manhattan Sailing School. Marketing and administrative people are needed to sign people up for sailing lessons and schedule instructors.
Yacht Club Maintenance Technicians – Maintenance Technicians are needed to help maintain the club fleet of boats. Maintenance technicians inspect, clean and repair boats as needed.
Adult & Junior Sailing Instructors – Instructors are needed at Manhattan Sailing School. The school’s primary mission is to teach adults on J/24 sailboats. More recently, the school has added a teen program on the J/24s and now also Lasers & Sunfish for teens and adults and Optimists for kids.
USCG Licensed Captains – Captains with USCG 100 ton licenses and 6-pack licenses with sailing endorsements are needed to help run the clubhouse in the harbor, launch which brings members to and from the clubhouse and 3 incredible sailboats which carry 6 or fewer passengers for hire.
Mates – This is an introductory level into the maritime industry. Mates are needed to assist the captains running the harbor clubhouse and launch. Mates who demonstrate good skill and employment habits may advance to positions such as Dock Masters, Maintenance, Customer Service and eventually begin working towards USCG-licenses.
